Im sure everyone's summer went by fast. I had the opportunity to take my wife and spend one week in the Carribean visiting my parents. My dad has been working in Trinidad and Tobago for two years and they love it. At the end of July we took our whole family and DROVE to B.C., Canada to visit the rest of my family. Overall, my summer was FABULOUS and short. Im very excited to be back to school for another great year. This year in Physical Education we are focusing on personal fitness and all the responsibilities that come with "personal fitness." This winter the 2010 Winter Olympics takes place in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. As a school we will be running on our school property and logging miles. Each student will be placed on a country and compete against one another. My goal is that we will have all of our competing countries reach Vancouver, B.C. by the time the 2010 Winter Olympics begin. So far the students have been very determined to log their miles. Let's encourage our children/students to log as many miles as possible and to focus on personal fitness whenever we get the chance!!!
Good luck this year to everyone!!!
GHES Physical Education is geared towards team building, personal fitness, and respect. Our youth seem to be so focused on finishing first and last. We focus on competing for eachother and succeeding "together."
We have done such a great job on trying to improve our personal fitness and competing in small groups. You will see below some of the interesting and challenging activites we have worked on:
